Amphenol's Surlok Plus high-current connector series for energy storage systems, electric vehicles, battery solutions, fuel cells and industrial applications has been expanded to include a powerful version with a voltage capacity of 1,500 VDC. The housing is also more compact compared to the previous 1,000 VDC version. These field-installable connectors offer high power distribution in a space-saving cable lug and are a reliable alternative to conventional compression cable lugs. They are suitable for the transmission of direct current to direct current and alternating current to direct current. The Surlok Plus in the 5.7mm, 12.0mm and 14.0mm versions enable higher currents and voltages in smaller housings.
Utilising industry standard screws and busbar connectors, the Surlok Plus requires no special torque tools for installation. It features a quick-lock and press-to-release design to accommodate various dimensional constraints.
To prevent mismating when multiple connectors are used in a single application, these compact, quick-mating connectors feature mechanical keyways. The connectors incorporate the latest R4 Radsok technology, which significantly increases current rating while reducing mating force, temperature rise and voltage drop.
The Surlok Plus connectors have a self-cleaning grid that keeps contacts and connectors clean. They are sealed against environmental influences and comply with the IP67 and IP6K9K standards as well as UL 1977/4128/TUV 2PfG2740. Compared to the previous version with 1,000 VDC presented in the video (from 01:36min), the housing is even more compact and the voltage capacity higher.
