Even components that often receive little attention can prevent expensive damage: The protective caps for the 670 and 770 series cable connectors from Binder reliably protect the components against the ingress of dust and liquids when unplugged. The requirements of protection class IP67 are met.
This is because if a plug connection has to be disconnected during use, for example for inspection or maintenance, this reduces the environmental protection for the duration of the work. This is why Franz Binder GmbH & Co. Elektrische Bauelemente KG has added protective caps to the products in its NCC (Not Connected Closed) 670 and 770 series to prevent the ingress of particles and moisture when the connection is disconnected. The protective caps are equipped with retaining straps that can be easily fitted to the cable connectors.
The 670 and 770 series connectors are used in hand-held operating devices, for example. If the application requires the cable connector to be detached from the device, it is exposed to the environmental influences at the place of use without a protective cap. The cap ensures environmental protection in accordance with IP67 - against dust and temporary submersion - even when unplugged.
The NCC 670 and 770 series are compact and highly versatile 5-pin and 8-pin connectors with bayonet locking. They are designed for demanding environments that require IP67 protection of the interface. Typical applications can be found in measurement and testing technology as well as in lighting, signal displays and other devices that need to be washable.
The NCC series is characterized by a special design feature: The contacts of the flange sockets are protected against contact, dust and splash water on all sides or against temporary immersion by a spring-loaded plastic cover, even when the connection is loosened (670 series: IP54, 770 series: IP67).
With the help of the protective caps that are now available for the cable connectors, they also achieve protection class IP67 when unplugged.
