More efficient use of electrical system capacity

Passive EMC harmonic filters Ecosine from Schaffner Group

The passive EMC harmonic filters Ecosine from Schaffner Group contribute to a better utilization of the electrical system capacity by relieving the electrical infrastructure from the overload and heat caused by harmonic currents. At the same time, users benefit from a significantly improved power factor through the use of these filters.

The new Ecosine Flex FN3446 and FN3458 have been designed to exceed stringent safety standards, including UL approval, whether they are used in applications such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), water/wastewater treatment, fan and pump installations, factory automation or mission-critical processes, with a particular focus on reducing harmonic currents generated by frequency converters.

reduction of harmonics generated by frequency converters. The performance of Ecosine Flex filters enables compliance with EN 61000-3-12 or IEEE-519 for Isc/IL <50 and many other power quality standards.
With a power range of 4 kW to 200 kW, the new Ecosine Flex series closes the gap between the existing Ecosine Economy Line (power range 4 kW to 160 kW) and Ecosine Max with a power range of 250 kW to 500 kW.

The FN3446 400 V-480 V AC for 50 Hz networks and the FN3458 400-480 V AC for 60 Hz networks are compact, passive harmonic filters that increase energy efficiency and offer an excellent price/performance ratio. Compared to the previous models FN3416 and FN3418, the new models offer enhanced features, such as the option of a Trap Disconnect Jumper (TDJ) and an IP00 version (in addition to the standard IP20 version) - and thus an improved price/performance ratio.
